What to Expect
At Poundbury Chiropractic, we’ll help you to get back your health with a range of treatment options for spine, nerve and joint pain.
Your First Visit
At your first visit to Poundbury Clinic when you come through to reception, the front desk is going to get you something, a tea or a coffee and there'll be some paperwork. Once you're ready your Chiropractor will come and collect you from reception and take you through to the consultation room.
Here your Chiropractor, Martyn is going to ask you just a few questions to better understand what brings you in. Is it a minor issue or maybe it's something quite significant? Or maybe you're just looking for a bit of an MOT, checkup or second opinion. Whatever the case once Martyn knows more about what brings you in, he is going to go a bit deeper into understanding what's going on in your body.
You'll be asked about your past, your medical history, go through any traumas or injuries you've had or just go through what you do at work. Once this is complete he'll move onto the physical exam. Here he can do some nerve tests, or joint tests or maybe look at your structure and alignment.
Parts of the physical exam are very important when we're working toward finding a specific diagnosis, if that's what we're looking for. Now at the end of this he may need to refer for some imaging, which is useful because here he can better understand your body. He can look at the joints, cartilage or the overall structure. The referral process takes just a few steps for network of professionals he works with.
The second part of your consultation process is what is called the report of findings. At this second part, your chiropractor will have enough time to review your notes and images on file to give you specific feedback.
He will show you your images if any were taken and go through anything important on there. It may be a specific diagnosis or it may be just some feedback, some recommendations, some advice, some dos or don't dos and then if its necessary and you're looking for it, some treatment options.
I hope you found this useful and we look forward to seeing you soon.
